David Tafadzwa Nanjala also known as Jayden
Billy Buoy was born (08 October 2001) and raised at Olievenhotbosch is the next
big thing in the music industry, the songwriter and rapper fell in love with
music back in primary school and his stage name was inspired by a music artist
from America Jaden smith. “The name came when I was watching the movie Karate Kid,
it inspired me a lot and that’s when I started calling myself Jayden the
winner,” says David.
His music career as a trap, RnB, and hip-hop
artist started in 2013 when he met Dj Small Tee on the street. The young
fellow impressed the DJ with his bars while freestyling with friends on the
streets, he loved what he heard and took him to the studio to record. He says
in those moments that is when he realized that he was passionate about music and
vowed to pursue it full-time after matric.
The challenges he faced when he started his music
career were lack of funds to record, shoot music videos, and market his music
online. Currently, he is doing music on his own and needs a promoter to help him
submit his music to radio stations and music videos to television channels.
Jayden Billy Buoy aims to inspire different upcoming artists from his township
who are afraid of taking the first step because of fear of the unknown and
aims to put the underground Olieven on the Map.
His favorite song in the songs he has produced
thus far is My Story ft. Kay M, “I like this song because it talks about
everything I have been through and everything I am going through right now, it
reminds me of how strong I am and I have complete faith in my music. To be honest, it is one of the best songs I have written because it tells my story and I know
a lot of people relate to the song” says David.
In his music journey, he has worked with the likes
of Thando, Kay M, and JahmaI as his producer, in future he wishes to work with Gemini
Major and to be featured on shows like Live Amp, Selimathunzi, and Zaziwa. The
advice he was given when he started his music and that kept him going through
it all was that if success is your destination, then giving up should never be
an option for you. the advice he has for upcoming artists is that they must
Challenge themselves, be strong, always remember why they chose this career path
and never give up.
